PAT testing for landlords
While it is not a legal requirement to have PAT testing for landlords, it is considered best practice to have annual PAT testing on all appliances within your rented property. The government states that all rented properties must have a safe electrical system, and all appliances supplied by the landlord must be safe. However, some local councils will enforce PAT testing for rented properties. Do i neeed to have electrical installation tested before a new tenant moves in?
The government guidance is available via their website; please click this link. Properties must be inspected at least every five years, and a copy of the report supplied to new tenants before they occupy the premises.
Do you provide a certificate for having pet test?
As a tenant, you should be provided with a copy of an up-to-date condition report by your landlord. However, it is the landlord’s responsibility to have all inspections and testing complete.
What electricals are landlords responsible for?
